GILAS Pilipinas can now share its recent success to its Twitter and Instagram followers as the entire team can now get back online after having a social media blackout to focus on the Southeast Asian Basketball Association (Seaba) Championship.

After going off line to focus on the task at hand, the Filipino dribblers can finally post tweets and photos following their Seaba sweep capped by a 97-64 blowout of Indonesia on Thursday night.

National coach Chot Reyes announced on the eve of the start of the weeklong tournament that they would be making the sacrifice.

    And Japeth Aguilar didn’t mind.

“Ganun talaga yung tradition namin para ma-maintain namin 'yung focus namin, ayaw kami sa distraction,” the veteran internationalist said after the gold-medal match.

“Kaya naman (tiisin), and it just makes the accomplishment sweeter pag bumalik ka na sa social media,” he added.

Aside from going back online, Aguilar is also raring to reinforce Barangay Ginebra as it resumes its PBA Commissioner’s Cup campaign against Rain or Shine on Friday

“Oo, name-miss ko na rin yung team ko,” the Gin Kings star said.

“Pero knowing coach Tim, pag di ka nag-practice, di ka niya gagamitin, unfair sa ibang guys,” he added. “But I'll be there supporting if ever ‘di ako gamitin.”
