BOCAUE — Serbia’s path to a third title got a little bit clearer after topping Pool A of the 2018 Fiba 3x3 World Cup on Monday at Philippine Arena.
The defending champion clobbered Romania, 21-12, and Kyrgyzstan, 21-9, to come out of the group stages unscathed.
Netherlands also moved on to the quarterfinals after ending pool play at 3-1, thanks to its pair of wins over Romania and New Zealand.
Canada got big games from Michael Linklater as it swept Pool C to finish with a 4-0 record. The Canadians escaped a game challenge from the Philippines, 20-19, before blasting Brazil, 22-4.
Mongolia also followed them to the next round with its 3-1 card, slipping past Russia and Brazil in the day.
Host Philippines salvaged its campaign with a 19-12 conquest over Russia, ending its run with a 2-2 slate to finish in third place in Pool C.
