May 12, 2016
Kobe Paras led the Philippines to the title in the 2013 Fiba 3x3 Under-18 Asian Championship.

THE 2016 Fiba 3x3 Under-18 Asian Championship will be hosted by Kuala Lumpur on July 22-24 at the Gem-In shopping mall.

The Philippines is expected to defend the Under-18 3x3 crown in the second edition of the tournament where 12 men’s teams are set to see action.

The Philippine team led by Kobe Paras copped the first edition of the competition in Bangkok in 2013. The winning team also included Thirdy Ravena, Prince Rivero, and Arvin Tolentino.

Twelve women’s teams will also compete in the tournament organized by the Malaysian Basketball Association (Maba). Chinese Taipei won the women’s crown the last time out.

Malaysia will also host the 2017 tournament after Maba signed a two-year contract to host the event.
