    Tams beat Bombers to bow out with even mark

    FAR Eastern University ended its Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup campaign on a high note as it outlasted Jose Rizal University, 73-70, on Friday at the Arena in San Juan.

    Down, 68-69, after a Cris dela Paz basket, the Tamaraws retaliated with a four-point spurt behind Carl Cruz's putback from a Mike Tolomia missed triple and Anthony Hargrove's fast break lay up.

    The Morayta-based squad held on to finish with an even record of 4-4.

    Hargrove came up with 16 points, Tolomia had 13, Cruz scored 11 and Roger Pogoy added 10 markers for the Tamaraws.

    FEU was without star players RR Garcia and Terrence Romeo, who played in the D-League semifinals on Thursday.

    Philip Paniamogan produced 13 markers, while Marco Balagtas had 12 and Nonoy Benavides added 11 for JRU, which finished with a 1-7 record.
