BONG Tan and Allan Caidic led the way as Filipino-Chinese Veterans Basketball Association (FCVBA) picked up its second win by beating Meteor, 77-49, on Tuesday in the 25th Asean Veterans Basketball Tournament 50-above division at the Chiang Kai Shek College Gym.
Tan, the president and chief executive officer of Tanduay Distillers, had 22 points built around five triples while adding seven assists, while Caidic scored 18 points for the unbeaten FCVBA squad.
In the 60-above division, former PBA player Noli Banate had 10 points and eight rebounds as FCVBA defeated Hatyai, 50-27, to also go 2-0 in the competition backed by Rain or Shine, Freego Jeans, Ironcon Builders and Philippine Airlines.
Banate was named Freego Best Player for his near double-double. Julio Cruz tallied 12 point and Jose Lao adding nine markers for the FCVBA 60-above squad.
