FAR Eastern University defeated National University, 60-58, on Tuesday in a rematch of their UAAP finals match but the Tamaraws missed a berth in the battle-for-third of the Philippine Collegiate Champions League.

The Tamaraws moved into a tie for fourth place with the University of Visayas Green Lancers at the end of Elite Eight play but failed to meet the minimum required winning margin of 13 points in order to advance into the game for third place.

Instead, it will be an all-Visayas showdown for the bronze with University of San Carlos facing UV after the Warriors (3-1) lost their head-to-head tiebreaker to San Beda.

San Beda will battle La Salle for the title

Carl Bryan Cruz had 10 points while Prince Orizu grabbed 10 rebounds or the Tamaraws.

The UAAP champion Bulldogs ended up with a 1-3 win-loss slate.

    The scores:

    FEU (60) – Cruz 10, Belo 8, Trinidad 6, Delfinado 6, Tolomia 6, Tamsi 5, Orizu 4, Pogoy 4, Denila 3, Ebona 3, Ri. Escoto 2, Inigo 2, Jose 1, Lee Yu 0.
