SAN Beda got its act together in the fourth quarter, repulsing Far Eastern University, 60-52, on Monday to advance to the semifinals of the 2019 Filoil Flying V Preseason Cup in San Juan.
Evan Nelle scored six of his 16 points in the final period, finishing with four rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block.
James Canlas also dropped 13 points, seven rebounds, two dimes, and a steal to help San Beda arrange a Final Four clash against Adamson on Thursday.
The backcourt tandem teamed up in helping the Red Lions break away from a deadlock at 42, staging a 10-1 assault that made it a 52-43 lead with 3:13 to play.
Wendell Comboy tried to make things interesting for FEU, cutting the deficit down to six, 58-52, with 20.8 left, but Calvin Oftana buried a pair of freebies to ice the game.
Donald Tankoua added 12 points and five rebounds for San Beda.

Barkley Ebona topscored for the Tamaraws with eight points and eight rebounds, as Comboy and Ken Tuffin both had six.
