ENCHO Serrano has been included in the lineup of La Salle Greenhills in the Pilipinas Chinese Amateur Basketball League (PCABL), bolstering speculation that the high school star will suit up for the Greenies in the NCAA.
A high-ranking team official confirmed La Salle Greenhills submitted the name of Serrano as part of the Greenies lineup for the summer tournament.
On Monday, sources told SPIN.ph that La Salle is moving to convince Serrano to play for the Greenies this season to pave the way for his transfer to the Green Archers camp the following year.
Serrano, however, was not around when LSGH posted an 85-73 win over University of the East on Tuesday.
Serrano is considered as one of the top high school stars in the country, having been a strong contender for the UAAP Season 79 MVP award while playing for the Adamson Baby Falcons.
Serrano, however, was later ruled ineligible by the UAAP board, leading to the forfeiture of Adamson’s 11 victories in games where the hard-nosed guard from Apalit, Pampanga suited up.
A transfer for Serrano became more immiment after his former coach at Adamson, Goldwin Monteverde, moved to National University to coach the Bullpups.
There is also speculation that a few of his players at Adamson, including Gerry Abadiano and Carl Tamayo, will join him at the Bullpups camp.
JD Cagulangan had 18 points, five rebounds, and eight assists in the Greenies’ victory on opening day in the PCABL. Franzl Lao finished with 13 points, while Harri Espinosa posted 12 points for LSGH.
Darvin Policarpio scored 15 points while Shane Dichoso finished with 13 points for the Junior Warriors.
