Durham plays big as Niigata stops NeoPhoenix win streak at three

Former PBA Best Import weaves old magic against Ravena, NeoPhoenix
    Dec 20, 2020

ALLEN Durham came up big for Niigata Albirex BB, helping the team stop San-En NeoPhoenix's three-game win run with an 86-79 victory in the 2020-21 B.League on Sunday at Toyohashi City General Gymnasium.

The three-time PBA Best Import sealed the deal for the visitors by scoring four of the last seven points to stave off a late rally from the home team. He finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds as Niigata ended a six-game losing skid.

Stevan Jelovac led the NeoPhoenix with 24 points on 4-of-7 shooting from threes, to go with nine rebounds and a steal, while Nenad Miljenovic added 10 points, three dimes, and two boards.

San-En coach Branislav Vicentic sat out American import Kyle Hunt for the game.

Thirdy Ravena once again came off the bench and tallied 10 points on 2-of-4 shooting from downtown, on top of four rebounds and one assist in the loss - San-En's 18th against five victories.

Hayato Kawashima also saw his solid 10-point, 8-assist game go down the drain for San-En.

The NeoPhoenix faded away from a 71-all deadlock as Allen triggered a 6-0 blast to erect a 77-71 lead for Albirex BB with 3:36 left.
