THE 2017 Dreamers Regional Basketball Challenge has begun on Tuesday and will run until May 27 at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo De Cebu old campus.
Twenty-two teams were divided into three age groups for the five-day tournament organized by Pinoy Youth Dreamers of Beaujing Acot and sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.
While the opening day of competition began on Tuesday, the opening rites will be held on Wednesday with SBP deputy executive director Bernie Atienza delivering the inspirational message.
"Cebu is ready to roll the red carpet to participants from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao," said Acot, who will be assisted by SBP Region 7 director Rico Navarro in organizing the tournament.
"With the Dreamers Regional Basketball Challenge, we hope to discover more young and outstanding players from all over the country and give them the opportunity to play basketball and shine," said Acot.
