NATURALIZED Filipino Marcus Douthit will donate P500 for the 'Yolanda' relief effort for every point and rebound he tallies during the 2013 Southeast Asian Games men’s basketball tournament which will get underway on December 8 in Naypyitaw, Myanmar.

Douthit made the pledge on his Twitter account on Wednesday while the Gilas Pilipinas team was on its way to Myanmar.

“I will donate 500 pesos every point and rebound I get in the sea games to Yolanda victims in tacloban !!!,” wrote Douthit on his @DouthitMarcus account.

The former Los Angeles Laker draftee has been one of the Philippines’ top players in international competition, his presence instrumental in pro-backed Gilas Pilipinas clinching a spot in the 2014 Fiba World Cup following a silver medal finish in the 2013 Fiba-Asia Championship.

Now, Douthit will backstopped an amater-laden team out to reassert the country’s supremacy in SEA Games competition.
