DONDON Hontiveros will make his much-awaited 3x3 debut in the fourth leg of the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3x3 President's Cup on Saturday at SM Megamall Events Center in Mandaluyong.
The 41-year-old sniper will be a much-needed reinforcement to the youthful Cebu Max4 Birada side as he'll mix it up with younger peers Rey Suerte, Garciano Puerto Jr., and Nichole Ubalde.
Cebu has yet to crack the semifinals in the last three legs, and suffered its worst showing last week.
The Birada are hoping that the entry of Hontiveros will finally allow the team score a breakthrough, especially with the top four teams after this leg earning the top four seeds for the final tour on March 31.
Sean Manganti will also be back in the fold for the 1Bataan Risers as they aim to win their third title in four stops and secure the top-seed for the final leg.
He links up anew with Alvin Pasaol, Santi Santillan, and Anton Asistio, and will replace veteran Chito Jaime, who helped the team claim the third leg championship at SM Fairview last week.
1Bataan currently leads the field with 280 points.
Pasig Grindhouse Kings, meanwhile, aren't that far behind with their 260 points as they are out for revenge as the team, bannered by Joshua Munzon, Taylor Statham, Dylan Ababou, and Troy Rike, gun for their second title in four legs.
The Pasay Voyagers sits at third with their 180 points, followed by San Juan Knights-Go for Gold at fourth with 165 points.
