DE La Salle beat Chie Hsin University, 110-103, on Tuesday at the start of the 2017 BLIA Cup University Basketball Tournament in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
The Ben Mbala-led Green Archers picked up their first win against the reigning Division 1 champions of the local collegiate league.
The BLIA tournament is part of the preparation of the Green Archers for the UAAP as they look to retain the crown in Season 80.
