DILIMAN eyes the No. 3 spot in the UCBL semifinals as the Blue Dragons take on also-ran Technological Institute of the Philippines on Thursday in the Universities and Colleges Basketball League at the Olivarez College gym in Parañaque City.
Game time is at 2 p.m.
The Blue Dragons, who beat the TIP Engineers in the first round, are coming off a big win over the Bulacan State Gold Gears.
Reigning titlist Centro Escolar University and Colegio de San Lorenzo are tied for the lead at 11-1.
Diliman is tied with idle Olivarez College at 8-5 but a win over the Engineers will put the Blue Dragons in the No. 3 spot, while the Sea Lions slip to No. 4. Diliman swept the two elims matches against Olivarez.
The Engineers, however, are out to end their campaign on a winning note.
“It’s a matter of preserving our collective pride,” said TIP coach Potit de Vera. “We failed to meet our expectations this year but it doesn't mean that we will just roll over and die. We have to make sure that we will go down fighting.”
Lyceum-Batangas (3-8) and BulSU (2-8) clash at 12 p.m.
