DAVAO Occidental eased to the MPBL Datu Cup south division finals as it defeated Bacoor, 87-67, on Saturday at the Batangas City Coliseum.

Raja Cup champion Batangas City stayed in contention for a finals spot, beating Zamboanga, 67-57, to set up a rubber match.
Jeff Viernes scattered 16 points, seven rebounds and eight assists while Jhaymo Eguilos chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Athletics, who got nine points from Mon Rogado.
Both teams shot 40-percent from the field, but the biggest advantage for the Athletics came on the rebounding department as they clobbered their rivals, 47-33. That resulted in Batangas’ 20 second chance points compared to only two for Zamboanga.
