GILAS Pilipinas Youth stalwart Dalph Panopio is staying in the United States, committing to Cal State Bakersfield.
The Roadrunners announced the development on Thursday (Manila time) as the Italy-raised point guard opted to remain Stateside until next year despite a few offers from colleges in the Philippines.
Panopio, 20, is currently playing for South Plains College in Levelland, Texas.
He was tearing it up in Italy, where he posted 17.8 points on a 50-percent shooting from threes, on top of 5.5 assists for Stella Azzurra in the 2018 ANGT Finals.
The 6-foot-2 guard has also been solid for the Philippine youth team, averaging 7.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.3 steals in the 2018 Fiba Under-18 Asian Championship in Thailand.
He also made his mark for Gilas Youth in the 2019 Fiba Under-19 World Cup in Greece, nabbing 5.0 points, 2.6 boards, and 1.4 assists as the Philippines placed 14th.
