ZARK’S-Lyceum led from start to finish in dominating AMA Online Education, 109-85, on Thursday in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The Jawbreakers already surpassed their win total from their debut conference last year as they went 2-1 with Thursday’s win in a game that saw them lead by as many as 27 points.
Playing for the second consecutive playdate this conference appeared to be a non-issue for Zark’s-LPU, who had a 26-14 advantage in fastbreak points.
“We want to keep on sustaining the energy,” said Zark’s-LPU coach Topex Robinson. “We want to change how the D-League will be played from hereon. They have to keep up to us, rather than us keeping up with the D-League.”
Mike Nzeusseu collected 17 points and 10 rebounds, including a dunk against AMA’s Andre Paras late in the game, while CJ Perez had 15 points and 14 rebounds for the Jawbreakers, who already held a 31-19 lead at the end of the first period.
