ZARK'S Burger-Lyceum blew a double-digit lead late but hung tough for a thrilling 95-93 win over Wangs Basketball-Letran in the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup on Monday at the Pasig Sports Center.
Mike Nzeusseu led all players in scoring with 27 points to go with 11 rebounds, three steals and three blocks.
CJ Perez scored 18, while Ralph Tansingco had 16, includin 11 straight to close out the third frame with Zark's Burger leading 77-67.
The Jawbreakers led by as much as 12, 79-67 early in the fourth period before the Couriers mounted a comeback.
A quick Bonbon Batiller basket underneath with 1:25 remaining tied the game at 93-all.
But Jaycee Marcelino answered with a teardrop for the final score.
Batiller missed the fadeaway jumper in the ensuing play before the Jawbreakers successfully milked the clock on their way to their fourth straight victory in five games.
Wangs Basketball-Letran absorbed its first loss after two straight victories.
"I know that now, we know how to finish games. It makes us sharper. Thse close games, natututo kami and we learn from our mistakes," said Zarks coach Topex Robinson.
Bong Quinto paced Wangs with 22 points, JP Calvo added 16, and Christian Fajarito chipped in 13.
