ZARK’S Burger is in the process of forming a team for the PBA D-League Foundation Cup squad as it holds tryouts on April 20 to 21 at the Upper Deck Sports Center in Pasig City.
The tryouts, which was announced on the fast-growing burger chain’s social media accounts, are set to begin at 4 p.m. both days and are open to the public.
Zark’s, known for its two tall burgers in The Jawbreaker and the Tombstone, is the latest company to invade the D-League after fellow newcomers Flying V and Marinong Filipino.
It will be Zark’s first foray in the big leagues, having been active in recreational leagues around the metropolis including the LGR Hoops basketball tournament.
It is also not the first burger chain to invade basketball.
Burger King was represented briefly in the PBA by a team from the old Air21 Express franchise while a team in the defunct PBL carried the colors of Burger Machine in the 90s.
