NAILTALK-St. Dominic Savio is cutting short its participation in the ongoing 2019 PBA D-League Foundation Cup.
The school-based team announced on Friday its withdrawal from the league, with the school president Dr. Nestor V. Dela Cruz citing 'internal issues' behind the decision.
The Unicorns have lost all four of its games by an average of 26.5 points, none more humiliating than their 61-point defeat to Centro Escolar University, 107-66 last week.
That game also saw Nailtalk-Savio score just two points in the opening quarter, setting the league record for the lowest output in a quarter.
Nailtalk-Savio's last two games against AMA Online Education and Marinerong Pilipino shall no longer be played, with the teams being awarded with a victory via default.
The Unicorns became the second team in PBA D-League history to withdraw after Mila's Lechon in the 2018 Aspirants' Cup.
