BORACAY Rum defeated Hog’s Breath Café, 72-68, to book its fourth win in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at The Arena in San Juan on Monday.

Roider Cabrera made up for his absence in the team’s previous game against NLEX as he exploded for 20 points, including 12 in the pivotal third period that saw the Waves jump to a commanding 56-41 lead.

Boracay Rum outscored Hog’s Breath, 23-13, during that stretch.

The Razorbacks were able to cut the deficit to within 70-68, but only in the final 3.6 seconds.

The Waves improved to 4-3 (win-loss) overall for fifth place.

As Boracay Rum enjoyed a double figure lead, coach Lawrence Chongson had the luxury of fielding his second stringers for needed exposure to be used during the crucial stretch of the conference.

“Opportunity para magamit ko rin ‘yung mga seldom-used players para maramdaman nila not to take teams for granted,” said Chongson.
