COACH Vergel Meneses is eager to see how the Heavy Bombers will do against college teams after making the last six in the PBA Developmental League Aspirants Cup.

Against teams reinforced by aspiring and former pros, the Jose Rizal University team did fine and for that Meneses is pleased.

Meneses noted nobody expected the team led by Tey Teodoro, Jhaps Bautista, John Amboludto, MJ De la Virgen make it far, but to him making the last six is an achievement.

"Well para sa'kin magandang achievement na 'to for JRU. Biro mo, ang line-up ko college players, 'di ba? Makapasok ka ng Top 6, good achievement na yun," he said after his team was ousted by Cafe France in the quarterfinals, 86-75 on Thursday.

"Nobody expected us to be here. May mas malalakas na team na mababa … yung Wangs ang lakas, pero kami pa rin yung pumasok. Pinagtrabahuhan din ng mga players."

"Well, sa'kin talaga, sumali ako sa D-League para maka-gain ng experience yung mga players ko," said Meneses

"Sabi ko nga sa kanila, nothing to lose, everything to gain for us. Beterano mga makakalaban niyo, marami kayong matututunan diyan."
