UNIVERSITY of the Philippines QRS/Jam Liner leaned on a second-half surge to overwhelm AMA University, 100-84, and clinch the last twice-to-beat edge in the quarterfinals of the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup on Thursday at the Ynares Center in Pasig.

The Maroons turned the game around after a slow start and broke away on the way to finishing the elimination round with their second straight win and fifth overall against three losses.

Raul Soyud led the reversal, firing 19 of his game-high 25 points in the last two quarters for UP-Jam Liner, which dealt the Titans their sixth loss in eight outings.

“First time mag-compete sa big league then nakapasok agad sa Top Four,” Maroons coach Berth dela Rosa said. “Nagje-jell na at nagkaka-kumpiyansa na ang team.”
