NLEX is not taking any chances as the Road Warriors go for their sixth win on Monday against winless Derulo Accelero in the resumption of the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the JCSGO Gym in Quezon City.
The Road Warriors play the Oilers at 2 p.m.
NLEX resumes its title bid as it tries to stay undefeated against lowly Derulo Accelero, which has yet to win after five matches.
With the Road Warriors still without their head coach along with five stalwarts from San Beda, the team is certainly not taking the Oilers lightly.
NLEX and San Beda head coach Boyet Fernandez along with Ola Adeogun, Baser Amer, Art Dela Cruz, Kyle Pascual, and Ryusei Koga is currently in Lithuania for its preseason build-up for the NCAA.
The multi-titled team, which beat Cagayan Valley, 83-74, last Monday, went back to practice on Black Saturday following a short Lenten break.
“Mahirap na, you can’t take any team lightly,” said NLEX assistant coach Mon Celis, who’s on his third and final game as the man in charge for the Road Warriors.
The Oilers fell short of breaking their losing slump as they lost to Blackwater Sports, 93-96, last Monday.
Meanwhile, Cebuana Lhuillier vies for its fourth win and a spot for solo second in the team standings as it takes on Café France (2-2) at 4 p.m.
Big Chill and Boracay Rum, toting similar 2-2 win-loss cards, battle each other in the first game of a triple header at 12 noon.
