CAGAYAN Valley guns for a fourth straight victory when it tackles winless Derulo Accelero in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup on Monday at the JCSGO Gym in Quezon City.
The Rising Suns are seeking to remain on top of the standings in their 4 p.m. match against the Oilers which serves as the main game of another tripleheader.
John Pinto led the way as Cagayan stayed unbeaten after defeating Air21-Arellano, 92-75, last week. The point guard from Arellano had a game-high 23 points to power the Rising Suns past his college team.
Also contributing for the Rising Suns in the win were draftee Don Trollano, and holdovers Adrian Celada and Clarence Foronda.
“Maganda rin kasi ‘yung nabuo naming lineup, nakuha namin ‘yung gusto naming players. Lahat ng mga players, gusto rin naming mag-focus muna sa defense,” said Cagayan Valley assistant coach Toto Dojillo.
The Oilers, meanwhile, are winless after three matches, losing to Cebuana Lhuillier, 88-60, last week.
In the first game, Boracay Rum and Café France look to bounce back from their setbacks last week when they go up against each other at 12 noon.
The Waves are coming off an 85-87 loss to Blackwater Sports, while the Bakers were downed by Jumbo Plastic Linoleum, 70-74.
Boracay Rum, meanwhile, seeks to book a second win in three outings and stay just behind undefeated squads Big Chill and Blackwater Sports (2-0).
Café France for its part, tries to snap out of a roller-coaster start with a victory over the Waves.
Air21-Arellano faces Zambales M-Builders at 2 p.m.
The Chiefs go for its first win in three matches against the M-Builders, who are currently at 2-1.
