HOG’S Breath Café fortified its hold of the lead in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup following a lopsided 83-54 win over Zambales M-Builders as it kept its unbeaten slate on Tuesday at the Blue Eagle Gym.
The run-and-gun Razorbacks routed the M-Builders in notching their sixth straight win, moving ahead of Big Chill (6-1), Jumbo Plastic (5-1), and NLEX (4-1).
But defense was the big difference in the 29-point rout, according to head coach Caloy Garcia, as Hog’s Breath, which won only a game in its inaugural conference during the Foundation Cup, limited Zambales to only 26 percent shooting from the field.
Their defense working splendidly, the Razorbacks already had a 34-19 lead at the half.
“Our up-tempo game played a big part in our campaign. Our goal is to limit our opponents below 40 percent field goal shooting. We did very well today,” Hog’s Breath coach Caloy Garcia said.
Paul Sanga led the Razorbacks with 14 points.
