DESPITE Marinerong Pilipino-TIP falling short in the semifinals anew, Trevis Jackson believes he already has gave a good account of himself in his one-season stay in the PBA D-League.
“I felt like I've proven that I can play what they call Filipino basketball,” he said after the Engineers bowed out in the Final Four following a sweep by Go for Gold in the 2018 Foundation Cup on Thursday.
The Fil-Am guard turned heads in his stops with Gamboa Coffee Mix-St. Clare and Marinerong Pilipino-TIP this year, where he emerged as a potent scorer and an undisputed leader.
This conference, Jackson has been solid for the Engineers tallying a league second-best 16.7 points, along with 4.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.7 steals to steer his side to a third-seed finish in the eliminations with their 6-4 card.
But Jackson also knows he still has more to prove.
“I think I have more to prove,” said the 22-year-old playmaker as he prepares to enter the 2018 PBA Rookie Draft later this year.
“I'm thankful for the coaches for giving me an opportunity, but I still plan to get stronger and just continue to show that I'm an all-around player, not just a scorer.”
