ZARK'S Burger-Lyceum is on a roll, and the Jawbreakers intend to keep it that way when they take on Mila's Lechon in the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup on Thursday.
The match starts at 2 p.m. at the Pasig City Sports Center, with the Jawbreakers looking to pick up their fifth straight win after dropping the opener against Marinerong Pilipino.
With the way the two teams are playing as of late, Zark's Burger-Lyceum seems to be favored to come out on top.
The Jawbreakers are playing at a high level on both ends with CJ Perez, Mike Nzeusseu, and the Marcelino twins leading the way. The Mighty Roasters, on the other hand, are struggling to get it going with a 0-3 record, but Zark’s coach Topex Robinson is not taking Mila’s Lechon lightly.
“It’s all about honoring the game. This game has been good to us and whoever it is we’re playing, we can’t disrespect the game by playing lousy,” said Zark's Burger-Lyceum coach Topex Robinson.
Meanwhile, Marinerong Pilipino hopes to stay on course and win two games in a row in the 4 p.m. tussle.
But that won't be an easy task as the Skippers (2-2) tackle Wangs Basketball-Letran (2-1), which is eager to bounce back after absorbing its first defeat at the hands of the Jawbreakers.
"I've been putting premium on preparations," said Marinerong Pilipino coach Koy Banal, whose team has had a week of rest.
"Again we just have to be smart in our games and hopefully we use the win against Batangas-EAC as a springboard for us to move up the rankings."
