    Three-pointers galore as Gems whip Erasers

    CEBUANA Lhuillier used a big third quarter to thump Erase Xfoliant, 92-74, in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup on Thursday at the Trinity University of Asia gym.

    The Gems went on a 12-0 blast early in the third to tie the game at 45-all, and Jopher Custodio later unloaded three consecutive triples to help the Gems take a 60-52 lead.

    Cebuana stretched the advantage to 22, 84-62 after a Custodio trey and the Gems went on to record their third win in six outings.

    "Lucky win, salamat sa Diyos nakabalik," said Cebuana Lhuillier coach Beaujing Acot.

    The Gems are now in solo sixth place, while Erase XFoliant slipped to eighth at 2-4.

    Custodio finished with 25 points, including seven triples, June Dizon chipped in 15, Raymond Aguilar had 12, Paul Sanga added 10 and Paul Zamar contributed eight for the Gems.

    "We were looking for consistency. Swerte pumutok si (Paul) Sanga, si (Paul) Zamar at si (Jopher) Custodio," he said.

    Jett Vidal finished with 18 markers, while Marlon Gomez and Nate Matute contributed 15 and 11 points, respectively, for Erase Xfoliant.
