FLYING V refused to ease on the gas pedal as the Thunder preserved a perfect record by edging Racal, 94-86, on Monday in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Thomas Torres and Gab Banal showed the way with 17 points apiece as the Thunder stayed undefeated in five matches.
Aris Dionisio had 13 points, seven rebounds and two rejections, while Jeron Teng had 11 points on 4-of-18 shooting.
Jerick Canada had 11 points and 11 rebounds in almost 20 minutes of play.
"Our first group struggled but it's a good thing na yung second group nag-step up today," said Flying V coach Eric Altamirano, who urged his wards to play consistently especially on the defensive end.
"We made some stops at the end but we're very inconsistent," he said.
Ryan Ayonayon scored 29 points and was a rebound shy of a double-double for Racal, which slid to its third straight defeat after winning its first two games.
