    Thirdy Ravena still sees plenty to work on as Ateneo makes D-League Finals

    THIRDY Ravena knows that Cignal-Ateneo has already exceeded its expectations after reaching the 2019 PBA D-League Finals on Thursday.

    After all, coach Tab Baldwin has used this campaign as a chance for the Blue Eagles to develop their individual skills while also finetuning what they're running in their practices.

    "I'm proud of the team for preparing this way. Ito kasi talaga yung test namin kung gumagana yung pina-practice namin. This is a great opportunity for us to improve as a team," said Ravena, two-time reigning UAAP Finals MVP.

    Ravena was at the forefront of Cignal-Ateneo's attack in its 100-73 Game Two mauling of Valencia City Bukidnon-SSCR, firing 14 of his 19 points in the first half, on top of five rebounds, five assists, two steals, and one block.


    But as flawless as the Blue Eagles have run their plays in the Final Four, the second-generation star knows that there are still a lot to be desired when it comes to their execution.

    "I'd like to think that coach Tab is happy with how we're playing, pero by the looks of it, marami pa ring kailangan i-improve," the 22-year-old forward said, well aware that there are still a lot of time for Cignal-Ateneo to address the rough edges in its playbook.

    "That’s basketball. You can't be too content with what you have. It’s a continuous improvement na kailangan naming gawin."

    And if the Blue Eagles can do that and win the PBA D-League title in the process, then why not?

    "Ang importante lang doon, we're ready and we're prepared," Ravena said.
