AFTER missing out on the opportunity of winning a title in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL), Tep Siruma and Jessie Collado now set their sights on becoming PBA D-League Aspirants Cup champions with Che’Lu Bar and Grill-San Sebastian.
Siruma and Collado were late pick-ups by the Revellers in the Aspirants Cup following their campaign with the Bulacan Kuyas and the Quezon City Capitals, respectively, in the MPBL Anta-Rajah Cup.
Siruma is happy he was able to return to the PBA D-League through the MPBL.
“Nabigyan kami ng opportunity sa MPBL. Maganda rin talaga ‘yung liga. Nakuha ko ‘yung kumpiyansa,” said Siruma.
For his part, the 32-year-old Collado said it has been years since he played in the PBA D-League after suiting up for various teams such as ANI, Big Chill, and Cagayan Valley.
Naging way ko ‘yun para makabalik,” said Collado.
Siruma and Collado offered the same sentiments on the difference between the MPBL and the PBA D-League.
“Adjustment din kasi school-based sila. Dito, takbuhan. Kailangan sumabay,” said Siruma.
Collado, however, doesn’t mind the different pace in the PBA D-League.
After their D-League stint, Siruma and Collado will return to their mother teams in the MPBL with Bulacan and Quezon City respectively.
But first, they hope to win the PBA D-League crown.
