TANDUAY captured its second consecutive win with a 90-75 decision over Wangs Basketball on Thursday at the Ynares Sports Arena to move up the middle of the rankings in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup.
Rudy Lingganay had 12 of his 16 points in the second half, Adrian Santos also chipped in 16 points, and Reden Celda scored nine of his 14 points in the final period for Tanduay.
Tanduay is now tied with QRS/JAM Liner for fourth position with a 2-2 slate.
Coach Lawrence Chongson is relieved Tanduay is playing steadier after starting the conference on the wrong foot, losing their first two games.
“Sana back to back to back to back. Malayo pa ’yan. Pero big game sa amin ito. It will determine if we go up the middle of the pack or we go down the cellar,” said Chongson.
Lingganay’s back-to-back baskets put the Rhum Masters ahead by six after Wangs pulled to within 73-71 before Santos and Celda put the finishing touches to the victory.
Clark Bautista and new recruit Mark Romero had 13 points each for Wangs (1-3), which played without one of its top players in Gwyne Capacio.
