TANDUAY Light tries to gain separation from the teams in the bottom half on Thursday when it tackles Racal Motors in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The Rhum Masters are in sixth place with a 3-4 win-loss card and a victory over the Alibaba in their 12 p.m. encounter will enable them to tighten their grip on the final playoff spot in the 12-team conference.
The top two teams automatically go to the semifinals, with the third to sixth placers playing in the first round of the playoffs.
Racal Motors is currently in a share of seventh place with Wangs Basketball and Bread Story-Lyceum with a 2-4 win-loss slate.
Tanduay coach Lawrence Chongson, however, isn't taking things lightly against Racal Motors after the Rhum Masters survived a 2-21 start to beat last placers MP Hotel, 69-58, last December 11.
"It goes to show na kahit sino pa makalaban namin, back against the wall kami," said Chongson.
In the second game of the day's doubleheader, Café France faces Bread Story-Lyceum at 2 p.m.
The Bakers (5-2) look to bounce back for their 55-70 loss to Hapee earlier this week and cement their hold of third place with idle Jumbo Plastic Linoleum right behind with a 5-3 slate.
The Pirates go for an upset to improve their 2-4 win-loss record.
