ELLIOT Tan scored a game-high 26 points including a jumper that forced overtime to lift Jumbo Plastic Linoleum to a 79-72 win over Blackwater Sports on Thursday in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
Tan hit the big shots in the game as his jumper with 1.5 seconds to play in regulation tied the game at 63 before connecting again with a deuce that gave the Giants a four-point lead in the dying seconds of overtime.
The big win improved Jumbo Plastic’s win-loss record to 8-2.
“Siya naman ang veteran namin,” said Jumbo Plastic coach Stevenson Tiu of Tan. “Ever since, siya naman ang leader ng team. He pulled through today.”
Tiu was glad to win the game he considered a test for the Giants.
“’Yan ang sukatan. Nag-click ang shooting namin. Definitely, maganda ang linaro namin ngaoyn. Hopefully, tuloy-tuloy na ito,” Tiu said.
Jan Colina had 14 points while Harold Arboleda added 13 markers for the Giants.
Allan Mangahas added 21 points for Blackwater Sports, which dropped to 4-3 win-loss.
