BIG Chill defeated Informatics, 92-63, on Monday to snap a two-game losing run in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the JCSGO gym.
Terrence Romeo had a big outing, hitting 3-of-6 shots from behind-the-arc and finishing with 18 points to propel the Superchargers to their fourth win in eight outings. Informatics remained winless in seven matches.
The win also somehow eased the pain of Big Chill’s upset loss to Informatics when they faced off last conference. The Icons shocked the Superchargers, 94-87, at the same venue for their only win in the Aspirants Cup.
Big Chill coach Robert Sison admitted that the loss was at the back of his head with Monday’s game nearly under the same circumstances as to their previous match-up — with Informatics still winless and the game being played at the JCSGO gym.
“Actually, medyo kinakabahan din ako sa game na ito kasi kami lang ang tinalo nila last conference,” said Sison. “Pero naging magandang motivation para sa amin.”
Big Chill remained in contention for the six-team quarterfinals as they are tied for seventh place with a 4-4 win-loss record with Cagayan Valley and Cebuana Lhuillier.
The Superchargers never trailed in the game as they took a 31-10 lead at the end of the first period.
