NLEX captured its fourth straight victory after downing Cagayan Valley, 85-79, on Tuesday in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the JCSGO gym.
The Road Warriors dominated the Rising Suns in their first meeting since the Finals last conference. They improved their record to 4-2 following a bad start that saw the team lose its first two games.
Nico Salva dropped 17 points for the Road Warriors, who had five players in double figures. Ronald Pascual added 14 markers, Eric Camson 11, and Jake Pascual and Matt Ganuelas chipped in 10 each.
Camson broke a 63-63 deadlock, then hit free throws as the Road Warriors scored six unanswered points to make it a 69-63 lead they will never relinquished.
NLEX hiked its lead to 80-70 after the Cagayan Valley bench was called for a technical foul for hurling profane language. RR Garcia sank the technical free throw.
Cagayan Valley felt to eighth place with a 3-4 win-loss slate in a tie with Big Chill.
