BRT Sumisip Basilan-St. Clare held through late and pulled off a gutsy 63-60 Game Three victory over Marinerong Pilipino to cop the 2019 PBA D-League Foundation Cup title on Monday at Paco Arena in Manila.

Jhaps Bautista had 18 points, including the game-icing split with 1.5 seconds remaining as the Saints clinched their first title in the developmental ranks. He also grabbed eight rebounds and two steals to cap off his stellar run for BRT Sumisip-St. Clare.

Leo Gabo added 12 points, seven assists and five boards, making a huge triple that put the Saints up, 59-57, with 3:21 remaining to set up the tight finish.

Chances were there for Marinerong Pilipino even after Joshua Fontanilla put BRT Sumisip-St. Clare up by two, 62-60 with a split on the charity stripe with 10.3 left.

Mark Yee had a clean shot from beyond the arc, but he muffed his attempt late.

"Di bumitaw ang mga bata even after we lost Game One by a big margin. Yun ang reward para sa amin," said coach Stevenson Tiu, who won his first PBA D-League title after falling short in his previous two Finals appearances with Che'Lu Bar and Grill last season.

"Yun ang wish ko for how many years sa D-League. Palagi akong second place but this one, yun ang difference dahil ngayon puro young ones na. Maybe it's destined for me."

Yee led the Skippers with 17 points and 14 rebounds in the bitter runner-up finish.

Jhonard Clarito added 13 points, 15 boards, and two assists, while Santi Santillan got seven points and nine rebounds for Marinerong Pilipino.
