SANTI Santillan had 29 points and 10 rebounds as Marinerong Pilipino got back to its winning ways with a 91-72 demolition of the rebranded CD14 Designs-Trinity University of Asia Monday in the 2019 PBA D-League at JCSGO Gym in Cubao.
The former La Salle forward took charge in the third quarter, pouring 13 of his scoring output in the frame as the Skippers took a comfortable 65-48 lead.
Orlan Wamar added 10 points, going 3 for 5 from threes, Anton Asistio got nine points and three assists as the rest of the squad enjoyed the extended garbage time.
"Ang sinasabi ko na lang sa kanila palagi, kailangan naming ibigay ang best effort sa practice. Doon kami mabubuo as a team lalo na at akyat-baba ang laro players namin. Buti naman ngayon, lumabas ang resulta," said coach Yong Garcia.
Marinerong Pilipino improved its win-loss record to 3-2 slate in the Foundation Group, while also keeping CD14 Designs-Trinity winless through four games.
AJ Vitug fired 18 points and three rebounds to pace CD14 Designs-Trinity, formerly known as The Masterpiece-Trinity.
Chris De Chavez also made his debut for the White Stallions with 15 points, eight boards and four assists.
