VICTORIA Sports-MLQU overcame Blustar Detergent, 85-76, in a battle of also rans on Tuesday in the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup at the JCSGO Gym.
Robbie Herndon tallied 19 points to go with 13 rebounds and three assists for Victoria Sports, which ended the opening conference with a 2-7 win-loss record while keeping the Dragons winless in nine outings.
Michael Anonayon added 14 markers.
Despite the early exit, Victoria Sports Jino Manansala is glad with the experience his wards gained in the opening conference.
"Magandang experience ito para sa amin," said Manansala, who added they need a closer for their Foundation Cup campaign.
"Kailangan lang namin ng closer. Dun kami natatalo e. Lahat ng games namin nakakalamang kami or minsan dikit lang," he added.
Tristan Perez paced Blustar with 19 points, nine rebounds, and three assists.
Alvin Hui and Vincent Choong chipped in 12 and 11 points, respectively.
