CENTRO Escolar University ripped erstwhile unbeaten Flying V, 93-72, on Tuesday to keep alive its finals bid in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
The Scorpions jumped to a 28-14 lead in the first quarter and held on to force a decider in the best-of-three semifinal series.
CEU dealt Flying V its first loss in 12 matches.
Game Three is on Thursday at 4 p.m.
Rod Ebondo had another monstrous outing with 18 points, 26 rebounds, three assists and two blocks.
Art Aquino chipped in 18 markers, making 3 of 3 shots from the three-point area, Christian Uri scored 15, while JK Casino added 13.
CEU coach Yong Garcia was pleased to see his wards follow the defensive gameplan.
"Yung game plan lang namin si hindi kami masyado mag focus on (Jeron) Teng. Nag-focus kami team defense," Garcia said.
"Nasunod game plan sa defense. Yung offense madali na kasi sinwerte kami sa labas."
Teng finished with 13 points on 5 of 13 shooting before fouling out with still seven minutes and 21 seconds to go.
Eric Salamat, Gab Banal and Aris Dionisio each had 11 markers, while Tomas Thorres added 10.
