ROBBIE Herndon is glad to be able to fit in quickly with Marinerong Pilipino and help the Skippers boost its chances of advancing to the D-League Foundation Cup semifinals.

The Fil-Am started the conference with Wangs Basketball but the Couriers exited the tournament early, and Herndon got to continue his stint when he was picked by the Skippers.

He did not disappoint and scored 16 as the Skippers to victory over twice-to-beat Tanduay, forcing a rubber match for a semifinal spot on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

The former San Francisco State player is expected to deliver the numbers anew as Marinerong Pilipino tries to arrange a semifinal clash with Cignal.

"Everybody's unselfish in the team, and sometimes it's hard to find a team that's like that, that's so unselfish," said Herndon, pleased to have played well with Mark Isip, Juian Sargent and Achie Inigo.

"But this is really a team. There's a team-first mentality on this team, and I think I fit right in."

"This was a do or die game for us, so same mentality, we got to even bring it even more, because now, Tanduay is do or die, so we both have that mindset, so it's gonna be just the same game, it's gonna be tough," he said.
