CHE'LU Bar and Grill-San Sebastian turned back Jose Rizal University, 74-67, to halt a two-game skid in the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup on Thursday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
The Revellers nearly squandered a 16-point lead but held on for their third victory in six games while adding to the misery of the Heavy Bombers.
The Revellers turned a 12-point lead entering the final frame into a comfortable 66-50 cushion on Allyn Bulanadi's triple with 5:18 left.
But the Heavy Bombers mustered the strength to stage an uprising that got them to within five, 61-66 inside the last three minutes, only to run out of time as the Revellers held on to the victory.
Bulanadi finished with 26 points, while Jeepy Faundo added 13 markers.
"Big relief ito. Kung matalo kami dito, I don't think we have a chance sa quarters," said Che'Lu coach Stevenson Tiu.
Struggling to gain steam, JRU dropped its third straight loss in four outings.
Jeckster Apinan had 14 markers for the Heavy Bombers.
