JULIUS Armon, the Fil-American guard who deserted San Beda before the start of the NCAA season, has returned to the country and is expected to play for Boracay Rum in the PBA D-League.
Boracay Rum coach Lawrence Chongson confirmed that Armon will play for the Waves once he submits pertinent documents such as a Bureau of Immigration clearance and gets cleared to play in the developmental league.
Chongson said he hopes Armon can suit up for the team in the Aspirants Cup.
“Hopefully, this conference makapaglaro na siya,” Chongson said following the Waves' 76-86 loss to Cebuana Lhuillier. “Pero kung hindi, may second conference pa naman.”
Armon was tipped to be a force for the San Beda for this season in the NCAA. The explosive guard suited up for the Red Lions in the preseason but decided to leave the team and try his luck in the United States.
He was lured back into the country by Chongson. “Nag-uusap kami by e-mail and I told him to come over and play,” said the Waves coach.
