EARLY semifinalist Hapee clobbered Jumbo Plastic, 82-56, on Thursday to keep its record unblemished in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the JCSGO Gym in Cubao, Quezon City.
The Fresh Fighters are alone on top with a 10-0 record, followed by another early semifinalist Cagayan Valley at 9-0.
Hapee led by as many as 39 points, 76-37, after an 8-0 run capped by Nico Elorde’s five-point burst with 4:48 in the fourth quarter.
“’Yung effort ng mga bata consistent kasi dito heavy weights na ang mga naglalaban-laban,” said Hapee coach Ronnie Magsanoc.
“Walang mahinang game talaga, sa semifinals we always have to be sharp,” he added.
Former UAAP two-time MVP Rayray Parks scored 21 points for the Fresh Fighters and San Beda big man Ola Adeogun added 11.
Jaymo Eguilos made nine points for Jumbo Plastic, which dropped to 6-4 but is already assured of a spot in the quarterfinals.
