RACAL clamped down on defense in the third quarter before cruising to a 107-60 win over Gamboa Coffee Mix in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig on Monday.

After a tight first half, the Alibaba flipped the switch on and held the Coffee Lovers to just 13 points—the least points scored in a half this conference—in the next 20 minutes to put a three-game losing skid to a halt.

Racal improved to a 3-3 record while the Coffee Lovers dropped to 1-6.

Rian Ayonayon provided the energy on the defensive end and ran away with five steals on top of 26 points, four rebounds, and seven assists.

Mac Tallo scored 16 points off the bench, while Jam Cortez, Felix Apreku, and Paolo Pontejos combined for 32 markers.

"It's a good springboard para sa amin. It gave us a lot of positivity. We will build on that," said Racal coach Jerry Codinera.

"Ang sama lang ng demeanor ng team starting the game kasi it's Gamboa. Pero sabi ko, kahit sabihin mong di nagpa-practice yan, di papatalo yan. They used to be good players in college," he added.

Mark Montuano had 13 points for the Coffee Lovers, who were actually up 47-45 heading into the break but scored just three in the third quarter.

Mike Parala chipped in 12 markers, while playing coach Leo Avenido scored 10.
