RACAL and Batangas look to stay in the chase for a playoff spot when they face each other in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup on Thursday.
The match starts at 5 p.m. at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig, following the 3 p.m. clash between playoff-hopefuls Marinerong Pilipino (3-4) and Wangs Basketball (5-4).
Still struggling to find their groove following a runner-up finish last conference, coach Jerry Codinera will use every weapon at his disposal.
Even with his team in the middle of the standings at 3-4, the PBA legend is confident his squad led by Rian Ayonayon, Mac Tallo, and Gwyne Capacio will make the quarterfinals of the 11-team tournament.
“Mahirap yung kalagayan namin ngayon, pero one game at a time pa rin. Naniniwala naman kami na kaya pa rin naming humabol doon,” said Codinera, whose team is currently tied with the Skippers in the seventh place.
Batangas, on the other hand, is just as optimistic.
In fact, the coach Eric Gonzales-led squad has a better chance of booking a trip to the quarterfinals with a 4-3 record.
“Yun pa rin naman yung goal na sinasabi ko sa kanila, na gusto kong umabot sa quarters. Maganda na yung pinakita namin nung simula kaya sana naman, maabot na namin yun,” said Gonzales.
