PERPETUAL Help defeated AMA Online Education, 89-81, on Monday to stay in the hunt for a playoff spot in the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup at the JCSGO Gym in Quezon City.
Prince Eze had 22 points and 20 rebounds as the Altas halted a three-game slide and improved to a 3-5 win-loss record.
Rey Peralta added 17 points, six rebounds and six assists, while Edgar Charcos had 13 points, eight assists and six rebounds as the Altas boosted its chances of making it to the top six.
"We'll try to come up with a game plan for our next few games and hope we make it, it's good for the team. Kung hindi, then it's a good experience to play in the D-League," said Perpetual coach Frankie Lim.
Perpetual used an 11-2 run capped by an Eze basket for a 52-38 third-quarter lead.
The Altas made it 70-51 entering the final frame.
James Martinez nailed two triples in the final stretch, the last of trimming AMA’s deficit to six, 78-84, but could not get any closer.
The Titans slid to a 1-7 win-loss record, joining Batangas-EAC and Jose Rizal University in the cellar.
Martinez paced AMA with 18 markers.
