PHOENIX atoned from its first defeat of the season with a dominant win over Tanduay, 93-78, on Tuesday in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Ed Daquioag showed the way for the Accelerators with 27 points, including 13 in the fourth quarter, to lead his team to a 6-1 win-loss slate.

The Accelerators bounced back after bowing to Racal, 93-78, before the 10-day break due to the Fiba Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

“Kita mo naman yung pagbabago sa team,” said Phoenix coach Eric Gonzales. “I told them na kung saan tayo nadapa, doon tayo bumangon. Thankful ako dahil nagrespond naman yung mga players.

The Accelerators turned a 76-72 third quarter lead into blowout after scoring 32 points in the final period.

Mac Belo also dropped 11 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter to help in the Accelerators’ rampage.

Gelo Alolino pumped in 28 points for Tanduay, which fell to 5-3.
