JUMBO Plastic Linoleum clinched a twice-to-beat advantage in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup quarterfinals with an 88-80 win over MJM M-Builders on Thursday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
Philip Paniamogan scored 20 points off the bench for the Giants, who ended the elimination round with a 7-4 win-loss slate along with Cebuana Lhuillier.
The Giants clinched fourth spot and the final twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals where they will face the Gems.
Jumbo Plastic coach Steve Tiu still described the win as “scary” after seeing a 16-point lead trimmed to a single digit in the final period.
